  • Can I join a retreat/camp If I have never surfed before?
You are welcome to join our surf retreats even if you do not have any previous experience. We will teach you all the basics and safety starting from zero. What we do recommend is that you have a decent physical condition before your surf trip. Surfing is a sport that requires some physical strength, flexibility and balance. We recommend that you start training at least 2-3 weeks before your trip. Here’s a video that we created to practice surfing workouts at home: Feel free to reach out if you have questions about this.
  • I am an intermediate/advanced surfer. Will this retreat work for me?
As an intermediate or advanced surfer you will be paired with another student of your level. We have enough instructors, cars, boards and locations to be able to meet your surfing needs and to make sure you keep progressing each day.
  • Is Dominical Beach suitable for beginner surfers?
Is Dominical Beach a good spot for beginner surfers? Dominical beach is well known internationally as a great surf spot for all levels. As any other surfing location, it can be a perfect surf spot for beginner surfers as it can be a dangerous one, let us explain why. Dominical is a great spot to learn to surf if you have the right set up. Tides play a huge role on the timing to surf and it's vital that you go surfing at the right times. In the Pacific of Costa Rica we have drastic tide changes every 6 hours. Whether you are surfing Dominical or any other location having a basic understanding of the tides will make the difference between good surf and bad surf conditions. When you decide to take a lesson with us in Dominical there is nothing to worry about. We know Dominical and surrounding surf spots to perfection and we can assure you that your safety is our main concern, we would not take any lessons out if the conditions are dangerous. We will always choose the right tides, the right equipment and personalized attention so that you can learn as much as possible, become independent and feel safe with just a few classes.
  • How many people sleep in shared accommodation?
Only 2 people per room is offered in our packages so that you have more comfort, space and privacy.
  • What’s the weather like in Costa Rica during our retreat?
Costa Rica has 2 seasons: green season and dry season. Temperature and waves are warm all year round. But there are 2 months specifically in which we do not recommend traveling to Costa Rica due to heavy rainfall, that is September and October. Our operation will be closed during this months to ensure that all our retreats only happen during the best possible conditions.
  • How can I save my spot?
To save your spot we request a deposit in advance and the remaining balance must be paid one month before the retreat starts. The deposit is collected through our website and the balance through a payment link that we send to your email.
